At Lifetime Wellness Centre our Registered Massage Therapists (RMT) are part of a team of health care professionals who provide individualized care to create an exceptional patient experience.
Massage therapy, when performed by a RMT, is a safe and effective health care option for:
- the treatment and prevention of soft-tissue and joint injuries
- to develop, maintain, rehabilitate, and enhance physical function
- relieve pain
- relief of stress
- headaches and migraines
- circulatory problems
- muscular overuse and many chronic pain syndromes
- muscle strains, ligament sprains, fascial tension
All of our RMTs are registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and can provide you with a receipt to submit for extended health care benefits.
Our RMT’s offer a unique blend of massage modalities including Swedish, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial, and Deep Tissue.
Therapeutic massage utilizes many techniques to address soft tissue problems by reducing pain, releasing muscles in spasm and healing tendon and ligament issues. By focusing on specific health complaints, therapeutic massage can assist your body’s natural healing process in regards to injuries and repetitive strain syndromes, stimulate your nervous system, boost immunity and increase sluggish circulation.
Treatment strategies are formulated by gaining an understanding of your anatomy, medical conditions, pain tolerance, preferences for treatment and by physically assessing you.

Manual Lymph Drainage:
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a very gentle, rhythmical massage using light pressure to stimulate the lymphatic system. The objective of MLD is to reduce cellular wastes, toxins, inflammatory agents, antigens, and swelling in the tissues to promote healing. MLD also activates the nervous system reducing sympathetic (fight or flight) nervous activity allowing the parasympathetic system to activate and restore. This activity gives the client a deep sense of relaxation and substantially reduces symptoms of stress.
Lymphedema/Combined Decongestive Therapy (CDT):
The recognized standard of care for lymphedema is Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT). CDT has a combination of four interacting elements which are applied in two phases (initial phase and maintenance phase):
- manual lymph drainage (MLD)
- compression therapy
- lymphedema remedial exercises
- therapeutic skin care
According to the International Society of Lymphology, this is the treatment of choice for lymphedema. Results of scientific research have been documented and published in peer-reviewed Journals.
If you have chronic swelling or are living with Lymphedema, please call Lifetime Wellness Centre or contact Angie at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information on how we can specifically treat your condition.
ACE Massage Cupping™ :
ACE Massage Cupping™ is a modern form of vacuum therapy. By creating suction and vacuum pressure, ACE Massage Cupping™ is used to soften tight muscles and tone attachments, loosen adhesions and lift connective tissue, bring hydration and blood flow to body tissues, relieving adhesions and metabolic stagnation while moving deep inflammation to the skin surface for release, and drain excess fluids and toxins by opening lymphatic pathways.
Ecchymosis (bruising) is a common side effect of cupping, but does not always occur. The bruising commonly last 1-5 days.
If you would like to book a ACE Massage Cupping™ or have it incorporated into your massage session please Call Lifetime Wellness Centre to book an appointment with Angie Armstrong-Dupre (RMT).
